The 2025 Legislative session was my second term as a Representative in the Montana Legislature (HD47) in Billings. It was an extremely busy and demanding session, but my 31+ years in law enforcement prepared me well for its many challenges.

Expanded Crisis Intervention team training

HB362 provides training to law enforcement and first responders as to how to safely de-escalate persons experiencing a mental health crisis and refer them to services versus incarcerating them.  This solution supports both citizens and law enforcement. I will continue to address public safety needs to ensure that law enforcement has the necessary training, tools and equipment to effectively perform their job and keep our communities safe.
